Ledgestone TD Nate Heinold is happy to announce that a principle agreement has been struck between the Ledgestone event and GRIPeq. This is the 10th and final announcement in our Ten Days of Ledgestone promotion. GRIPeq has come on board as the Presenting Sponsor of the event with a two year agreement. The official name of the event will be the Discraft Ledgestone Insurance Open Powered by GRIPeq. “I took a very short two week break from disc golf activities after Worlds, but as soon as the month turned to September I started to dabble in a few ideas for 2020. I quickly came to the conclusion that I wanted to do something big for the 2020 event,” said Heinold. That something big turned in to wanting to put a bag in the player packs. What started out as an idea to put a small starter bag in the player packs dwarfed into something much bigger than Heinold imagined was possible. “I am making a significant investment in this sponsorship with GRIPeq, and they are similarly making a significant investment in the Ledgestone event. I am very thankful for the support of Discraft, who opened this door to speak to GRIPeq,” finished Heinold.
So what exactly will Amateur players be looking at in their players pack? How about a GRIPeq BX2 bag! Heinold admits that he was really set on putting a smaller bag into the player packs, but GRIPeq’s additional support and some extra backing from Discraft helped push the deal over the edge. “We are incredibly excited to be able to offer all Amateur players a BX2 bag. This year’s players pack goes above and beyond anything we ever imagined for the Ledgestone pack, and we are thrilled to be working with GRIPeq for the next two years,” said Heinold.
This is not the first time that the Ledgestone players pack has included a bag. The 2017 event included a starter backpack bag that Discraft designed and released at the event. That bag was designed to be a beginner level bag, but the event team wanted to push things forward in 2020. This deal puts the spotlight on quality above anything else. “Quality. Consistency. Discraft. That’s what Discraft is all about. When I thought about doing another bag deal, I wanted to make sure that we went with the highest quality brand in the industry. We have found that with GRIPeq,” said Heinold.
The BX2 bag that players will be getting will be a special bag, with more details to come soon. “We don’t want to spoil all of the details, but the bag will not be your ordinary BX2 bag. Those details are being worked out as we speak.” In addition to all Amateur players getting a bag in their players packs, all VIP’s will be receiving a G Series bag in their spectator packs. The G Series bag is a wonderful starter bag that still has the same quality that people have come to expect from GRIPeq’s other bags. The spectator pack will include two Limited Edition discs, a tournament shirt, the G Series bag, free parking for the full week of the event and more! Registration for spectator packs opens on 1/1/2020 at 6PM CST. If you cannot play in the event, this is your best bet to watch the event!
